just not my style
So, you've visited the etsy store (if not...what are you waiting for...jump to it!) and something caught your eye but...it's just not your style. Maybe the colors are not quite up your alley or the pattern is not so much what suits your fancy. Well, I have an app for that! Ok, no app...but, I wanted to say it.
Though, I do have a solution! Simply use the 'Request Custom Item' link on the left of the screen. Let me know what item you're diggin' and the customization you'd like. I will then be able to talk directly with you about what items you're looking for. It's a win-win situation! You get the perfect item and the boutique makes a sale...meaning, more support for the cause!
For instance, a customer liked the item design to the left but wanted it in a different color. She let me know what she was looking for and I was able to make it to her specifications! Perfect!

cards and buttons and images, oh my!
What an exciting past two days! I ordered some business cards for the shop and they arrived! I just LOVE them! Next Day Flyers does such a great job and at such a reasonable rate. If you would like some of these business cards to pass out and help spread the word, just contact me and I will be sure to get you some.
Also, if you have a website or blog of your own I have another favor to ask of you. I have created some buttons for the etsy shop. The buttons and codes are on the sidebar of the blog. If you could place one, or both of the buttons somewhere on your blog I would appreciate it so much.
Next exciting thing, I shipped off the first few orders from the shop today! I had to keep from squealing with delight as I walked into the UPS store with my boxes all ready to be sent off! I guess with that, the shop is officially a shop, not just a dream anymore!

a few questions and answers
What is Simply Unique Boutique?
Simply Unique Boutique (S.U.B.) is a store of handmade items. All profits from the sale of items in the shop go straight to a charitable cause.
How does S.U.B. work?
You, the customer visits our shop at www.mrspeluyera.etsy.com and falls in love with the handmade, one-of-a-kind items you see. You then purchase one, two, all of the items using PayPal or any major credit card. I package up your favorite items in something pretty and send it off to you. Once you receive your package, you love your purchases and spread the word about S.U.B.!
Who benefits from the sale of S.U.B.?
Until September 1, 2011 all profits will go straight to helping out Togo Palms in Togo, West Africa. My church, East Coast Church in Jacksonville, FL is sponsoring the building of a cabin at the camp. This cabin will costs $10,000 and require 4,000 bricks. That breaks down to $2.50 a brick.
How much of my purchase will go to charity?
The amount of profit varies for each sale. The profit is calculated by subtracting the seller fees, listing fees and transaction fees charged to me by both Etsy and PayPal. I then subtract the price of materials, labor and shipping. The remaining amount is the profit and all of that goes straight to the charitable cause.
I try my best to keep costs low and profits high by reusing and re-purposing items. I like to call it 'up-cycleing'!
